Write in the Torah

September 3, 2024

Congregants will have this one last opportunity to write in our new Sefer Torah under the guidance of our Sofer. Join Rabbi Salazar and your Har Zion family to fulfill this rare and enriching mitzvah. The event will also feature engaging art and study activities, making it a spiritually uplifting and meaningful experience. Participate in activities designed for your whole family, bridging across generations. Come create lasting memories with your children during this special occasion.

Dedication of the Abiri Jean Torah

September 8, 2024

Experience the joy and tradition at Har Zion Temple’s Abiri-Jean Torah Dedication, where we’ll celebrate the completion of a new Torah scroll, written by our community members under the guidance of Rabbi Yochanan Salazar and generously donated by the Abiri-Jean family. The event will feature dancing, a procession, and a ceremony welcoming the new Torah into our sanctuary. Enjoy various activities for all ages, including art projects, Torah games, and Israeli dancing, followed by a festive reception.

Centennial Birthday Bash

Enjoy a lively atmosphere featuring a klezmer band, magician, photo booths, a glitter tattoo artist, and a special area just for the kids. This festive event promises fun for every age, with activities and entertainment for both kids and adults. A casual catered brunch will bring everyone together. Special Guest Scholar Weekend

February 21-23, 2025

We are so excited to welcome Rabbi David Wolpe, the esteemed and nationally recognized Rabbi, as our Guest Scholar.

The weekend will consist of a special Friday evening Shabbat dinner following services, an Extended Kiddush, after Saturday morning Shabbat services and a Sunday morning program.

The well-known Wolpe brothers, Dr. Steven, Dr. Paul, and Rabbi Daniel will join their brother as they return to Har Zion Temple, their childhood congregation where their father, Gerald I. Wolpe z’l was our beloved Senior Rabbi for many decades.

There will be several opportunities to interact with the Wolpe brothers. This will be a weekend you will not want to miss!
