The Jane Fishman Grinberg Religious School
One of the benefits of membership is the ability to enroll your child in our Religious School. We strive to nurture excellence in Jewish education and a lifelong love of Jewish learning, to impart to our students and their families the skills to be practicing Conservative Jews and to enrich their understanding of Judaism. All of these efforts are guided by Torah, Avodah, and Gemilut Hasadim.
Our primary role as a people is to pass to our children the beauty and meaning of Judaism - our traditions, practices and values. Our educational philosophy is to provide experiential learning throughout our schools utilizing art, drama, music, and creative writing. Children start in our elementary school, and then proceed through middle school to our Hebrew High School and the A.M. Ellis Midrasha. Each year's curriculum builds upon the year before to maximize learning in the following areas: Torah, Prayer, Values, Hebrew Language and Reading, and Holidays/Jewish Living in Israel.
We are proud that our schools and our youth department have been honored with the Solomon Schechter Gold Award for Excellence in Education from the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism in December 2005. In April 2009, we were reaccredited as a Framework of Excellence School.
We at Har Zion Temple know that everyone has planted within them the seeds of possibility and dreams waiting to be realized. We see it every day in the students that attend our pre-school, religious school, and camp. We see it in the eyes of our B'nai Mitzvah students, confirmation students, our Madregot students and our USYers. By sending your children to our schools, camp, and youth programming you help us realize the dreams of our children. As tradition teaches us: "Al Shelosha Devarim haolam omed, al hatorah, v'al haavodah, v'al gemilut hasadim haomed. The world rests on three things, Torah, Worship and Acts of Loving Kindness." We look forward to your joining our community as we realize our dreams. My door is always open and I welcome your questions and comments.
