A.M. Ellis Midrasha (11th & 12th Grades)

Project Teach
Midrasha students learn the skills needed to lead an afternoon/Sunday religious school classroom. In the second year students who have completed the first year's coursework and have proven their capability through model and practice lessons will be given the opportunity to aid a classroom teacher or to teach small groups of students. Students who complete this intensive, two-year course will receive a teacher’s certificate.

Ancient Texts
This two year course explores how vital Rabbinic texts continue to be relevant and important in the fast-paced era of the Internet, CNN, and digital information, and looks at how we can apply these teachings to issues like medical ethics and business practices. 11th grade focuses on the Mishnah; 12th grade continues these studies with the Talmud.

Jewish Literature (11th Grade)
Students examine the literature of Judaism, Jewish and Israeli culture. Jewish Folklore, poetry, prose, Biblical and Holocaust literature are all explored, so that they become familiar pieces of our students' literary frame of reference.
